A short story from P. G. Wodehouse's The Man Upstairs and Other Stories

Arthur Welsh is a barber. His fiancée, Maud Peters, is a manicurist. Both work at the Hotel Belvoir. Arthur is a jealous man, and he can't stand to see Maud engaging in cheerful conversations with her male clients. Nevertheless, he is above all else an artist and continually resists the urge to dig his scissors ever so slightly into the scalps of the offending men. When Maud has finally had enough of Arthur's judgment, she seeks help from advice specialist Dr. Cupid.
