Twelve years ago, forensic anthropologist Jamie Cash survived a brutal kidnapping. After years of therapy, she has made a life for herself, though it is one that is haunted by memories of her terrifying past. She finally lets herself believe that she can have a close relationship with a man, when signs start appearing that point to one frightening fact: her attacker is back and ready to finish the job he started all those years ago.

Can Jamie escape her attacker's grasp a second time? And will she ever be able to let down her guard enough to find true love?

The second in the Women of Justice series delivers what fans have come to expect from romantic suspense author Eason. Forensic anthropologist Jamie Cash is haunted by her kidnapping, rape, and narrow escape from her captor, but just when she is about to open her heart to a man she comes to love, FBI agent Dakota Richards, her attacker returns. The dialogue and suspense element present strong characters, but the romance adds a lot of contradictory damsel-in-distress notes to the mix. After devising a way to escape on her own at least twice in the story, Jamie is shown as less than resourceful: "all she could do was hold on to the man who'd saved her life once again." The pairing of romance and suspense bodes well for a series left open for more.
